I know you would have liked to hear a more rock 'n' roll song, but I don't know many Elton John Songs...
Can You Feel The Love Tonight By: Elton John
There's a calm surrender to the rush of day When the heat of the rolling world can be turned away An enchanted moment, and it sees me through It's enough for this restless warrior just to be with you And can you feel the love tonight It is where we are It's enough for this wide-eyed wanderer That we got this far And can you feel the love tonight How it's laid to rest It's enough to make kings and vagabonds Believe the very best There's a time for everyone if they only learn That the twisting kaleidoscope moves us all in turn There's a rhyme and reason to the wild outdoors When the heart of this star-crossed voyager beats in time with yours
Elton John is one of the greatest singers of all time. What's your reaction that he's your mentor this week and what song of him will you sing and why?
He is pretty amazing but I don't know many songs by him... Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of him... But he's alright. His advice towards the music was good. It is always amazing to have a mentor who helps you sing his or her song so still cool...

Michael Johns, dawg, I didn't like the song choice because as Matt pointed out, he sang this song a few weeks ago, and you could have researched a little bit more to find a style and song that best fits you. On the flip side, vocals were decent.

Don't see why you would hate it just because of that, but whatever floats your boat.

I thought you sang it well--that being said, when you sing a song someone else already sang, it does lead to comparisons, and I think it fit Matt better and he performed it better than you did.
But, it was still ok.
